Summer 2026

Old Stagecoach Road - Final Design

The project has advanced into final design development following approval of the plans on June 22, 2026. Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2026.

Center Street (Off-system) - Construction

Construction is moving forward on this project. The contractor received the signed contract in May, the Notice to Proceed has been issued and utility relocation work is expected to begin in Summer 2026.

Old Stagecoach Road North - Final Design

The final design plans (100% PS&E) are under review. In addition, all right-of-way is expected to be complete by Summer 2026.

Overview

The City of Kyle is improving a 2.2-mile stretch of Old Stagecoach Road North, Old Stagecoach Road, and Center Street to reduce traffic congestion, enhance safety, and improve traffic flow. Funded by the 2022 Road Bond, the project focuses on roadway widening and reconstruction from Veterans Drive (RM 150) along Old Stagecoach Road North and Old Stagecoach Road. Old Stagecoach Road North will become a four-lane roadway, while Old Stagecoach Road will be widened to three lanes. On Center Street, the existing three-lane section will be improved by widening the center lane to enhance operations. To accelerate delivery, all three segments of the project will be bid and constructed independently.
